64 Bit Bus Drivers RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

I am into hardware testing and want to change the way people test in Windows. We execute lots of test cases for 32 and 64 bit windows and its too much hectic.

I am looking into areas to eliminate some test cases and i have identified some of the area say USB and SD devices as the drivers are inbuilt in Windows 7 OS.

I have looked into windows internals and found that there are differences only in some of the areas like, memory, Interrupts etc. and no much differences between 32 and 64 bits OS.

We do testing only the feature of driver, for eg transfer some amount of data from USB to hard disk.

Is there any documents to help to levarage my ideas in reducing the total number of test cases in a platform?

Also what is the address space for USB and SD bus?

I found IEEE 1394 addres sapce in MSDN so similarly i wanted to knw about other buses.

    Please help me into this.
