how to unzup or burn .IMG files RRS feed

  • hello,

    most the download from Microsoft now days are .IMG instate of ISO, so how do we burn it on DVD or unzip it? any software program?

    any suggestion will be appreciated.. lots of blogs and forums suggestions but nothing working...

    I need to install few programs like windows 2012 and system center but not able..

    You may try roxio burning software or power ISO softwares to help you with the above.

  • If you are using Windows 7, you can follow the instructions here. Windows 7 comes with a built in ability to burn discs directly from ISO and IMG files.

  • If you don't want to burn a CD or DVD directly, you could simply extract the IMG file using 7-Zip utility which many prefer. You may then install the software from your local drive, and later copy this to a DVD using standard DVD burn software provided with Windows Explorer linked utility (Win 7, 8 etc OS's).  Of course the extracted files are no longer compressed and so will occupy a lot more space.
