  • Question

  • with Exchange 2010 SP1, do we have to dismount and mount DBs
    for enabling or disabling circular logging?
    what's the command to dimount all DBs and mount them again
    if we do not want to dismount one by one?

    Thank you.

  • It depends. If you are using a DAG, then you do not need to dismount and remount the stores that are being replicated.

    If these are stand-alone stores, then yes you do.

    PS:

    something like:

    get-mailboxdatabase | Dismount-Database

    Get-MailboxDatabase | Mount-Database

  • Hi John,

    Here's the command to enable circular logging:

    get-mailboxdatabase -Server ServerName| foreach-object{Set-MailboxDatabase -identity $_.Name -CircularLoggingEnabled $true}

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards!

  • Also be aware its not immediate. It may take few minutes before the change takes effect. (enabling or disabling)
