Skype for Business Mobile, iOS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I wanted to verify some application behavior that I believe is normal with the Skype for Business mobile application on iOS. When the application is closed on the phone there is about a 4 ring delay on the desktop before it rings the phone. When the application is open there is no delay, it rings on the phone and desktop at the same time. The results were exactly the same with simultaneous ring on and off, external inbound and internal to internal. Is this what everyone else experiences?

    On-Premise Lync Server 2013 w/ Federation/Mobility capabilities (Edge Pool/Reverse Proxy)

Skype for Business Version 6.21.0, iOS 11.4.1

    Thank you,

  • Turning on the mail for the Native Client resolved any ringing delays that I thought might be a problem but wasn't sure.

I was actually trying to figure out why I couldn't send log files and stumbled upon this https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/messaging_with_communications/2016/12/15/skype-for-business-mobile-on-ios-and-the-inability-for-users-to-send-logs/.

  • Hi,

Please log out from the mobile client and try again and make sure you have the latest Lync 2013 server patch. Please refer to the following article.

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/uclobby/2013/09/11/lync-server-2013-cumulative-update-list/

By the way, can you check if the push service is working correctly on your phone? Please turn on the “Allow Notifications” and “Background App Refresh” in your phone.

And here you can find the description on how to enable the push notification in Lync 2013 server: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh690047(v=ocs.15).aspx

    Best Regards,
    Leon Lu

  • Leon Lu,

Are you saying this isn't normal behavior? I never saw any updates in the recent CU that would affect mobility. We have CU9 installed currently. I plan on doing CU10 soon.

MS and Apple push notifications are turned allowed under the Push Notification Configuration in the Lync control panel. The application has notifications turned on. However in the app Push Notifications says "Not Supported."

Now if you are saying what I'm experiencing isn't normal application behavior I could see how push notifications not working properly could affect the notification or ring of the voice call. I'll take a look at our push notification configuration. Thank you

  • Hi,

I also experienced similar issue since we installed latest security update for IOS (11.4.1).

Issue is like you don't get notifications if applications is closed on iPhone.

App is still running in the background but there is no notifications for new IM.

    Regards
