Playready content not working on IE 11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have windows 8.1 installed with IE 11 and playready content cannot play on it anymore.

I tried removing the contents of "c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady\" but it doesn't help.

When I look at the network traffic I see the individualization request and response but that's all, nothing new is created in "c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady\".

When I try via the microsoft test player (http://ampdemo.azureedge.net/azuremediaplayer.html?url=%2F%2Famssamples.streaming.mediaservices.windows.net%2Fbf657309-71d9-4436-b94b-8ac0d2ca222b%2FSintelTrailer.ism%2Fmanifest&playready=true) I get an error:

"The video playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the video used features your browser did not support" with code "0x20400000".

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi Guys,

I ran a search through my whole HD and found that there are two mspr.hds files that can be deleted.

I guess one is for silverlight and one for IE.

    Thanks anyway
