Outlook 2007 Security Concern RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was asked to reinstall Office Professional 2007 (using the retail upgrade version) by a client who had been having trouble with viruses as a result of some sleazy tech work done for him in the past.

What I need to do is to find a way to start over with a blank 'Outlook.pst' file (located in User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook) that will allow me to re-enter the contacts, and then import certain folders that were backed up onto their own .pst files. One of the previous techs had enabled the vCard option, and a blank contact had been used to send out spam emails to the point where my client's ISP had contacted him regarding it.

    Any info will be appreciated.

  • I opened Outlook and then deleted the 'Outlook.pst' file from the default location. It's telling me that it can't find the file when I click on the folders, but I am still able to access the account setup process. Will this help?
