Issue removing ability to update tasks, Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • In our organization, we want team members to be able to see their tasks in PWA, but not to update them.  So far, I have done the following:

    1. In the "My Assignments" View, made the % complete and dates read-only
    2. In the "Details" view, made the dates read-only

What I cannot find out how to do is, in the "Details" view, make the "Task Progress % Complete" read-only.  How can I do this and is there anything I should make sure is set appropriately (I have checked the permissions and don't think there is anything further I need to change there).

    Thanks!

  • Hi NFlanagan,

The Tasks page in PWA is designed to allow you team members to submit Task Updates to the project manager. I seriously doubt that you can lock-down the entire Task page.

Seems like you want to use the Tasks page as a reporting tool, so you might want to consider creating some custom reports instead of trying to lock down the Tasks page.
Or make it a training issue and explain them they should not modify anything in the Tasks page.

    I hope this helps,
    Hans
