Windows 10 1809 update not showing in WSUS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

For whatever reason, the upgrade to Windows 10 version 1809 is not syncing to my WSUS server. Other updates are syncing just fine. Is there a reason for this?

  • Hello,

Have you double checked that the classification "Upgrade" and the product "Windows 10" are selected?

If they are selected, do other upgrades not exist either? Or is it just occurs to 1809 upgrade?

And how do you verify that they are not syncing to WSUS? Have you checked the database?

Hope my answer could help you and look forward to your feedback.

    Best Regards,
    Ray

  • So I found that product upgrades weren't set to sync. However, my next issue is that the update is howing as not needed on any of my computers, even though I know for sure that I'm running 1803 on two of them. Any ideas? The WSUS server is running on 2016.

  • WSUS never pushes updates. It is a repository. It is the Windows Update Agent on each client system that does all of the work

  • yup, its not being pushed out by Microsoft atm, though available
It is, and has been available since November 13th in WSUS. All my systems have been updated to 1809 through WSUS since before December 1st.

The update is now synced to my WSUS server. however when I go into the report for Feature update to Windows 10 (business editions), version 1809, en-us x64, it tells me that it is needed by 0 computers, even though I know that two of machines are on 1803 and would need this update.

  • The systems that you are attempting to upgrade - were they created with Volume Media from the VLSC? Or were they OEM installs? Business Edition only upgrades Volume license versions. Consumer edition updates Retail/OEM installs.

  • Hello,

Try check for updates manually on the 1803 machine, and then check the compliance result after a while.

As Adam mentioned, what's the edition of your 1803 system?

    Best Regards,
    Ray

  • Hello,

So are they still not needed by the clients, both Business edition and Consumer edition?

If the clients have scanned for updates and reported their latest status, it would be helpful if you could provide the current edition of your 1803 clients and the group policies applied to them.

    Ray
