Hi,
This issue may occur if this program is not compatible with Windows 7.
I have checked on Windows 7 Compatibility Center, I found there was no information about Far Cry 2 and PunkBuster can compatible with windows 7, you
can check it on:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=FAr%20Cry%202
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=Punkbuster%20
The software which is not compatible with Windows 7 will lead to unexpected issue. I will help troubleshooting this issue as below. If the issue persists, you should
ask the game and software manufacturer to verify whether they are compatible with windows 7 or not.
First, please try to login with
Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs.
Also you can try to run it in vista compatibility mode:
1.
Insert the installation media, right click on the DVD drive icon and choose Open
2.
In the open folder, right click the program setup.exe file and click the Properties option.
3.
Select the Compatibility tab.
4.
Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option.
5.
From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista.
6.
If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration.
7.
Click OK.
Now, right click on Setup.exe and choose Run as administrator to install it again.
It this issue persists, I suggest asking PunkBuster Forum for further help:
