Cannot connect to Office365 account using Lync Windows Store RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

I am runing windows 8.1 on my PC and Tablet. I have an Office365 account where I am using lync as other services.

When downloading the Desktop Lync app from my office 365 admin portal and running it for the first time, I am prompt to enter user and password. Then I enter my office365 account and I manage succesfully to use link.

Problem occurs by using Lync app from Windows Store in my tablet.

What is happening is that first of all for the login account of windows I need to use a Microsoft Account which has different credential than my office365 account of course.

Then I download the Lync from store and start it. But I could not sign in as it never prompt me for entering a password. It seems it trys to login to Lync with my current windows 8 login user. If I press on "Reset login information" it has no effect.

What is the way to prompte me for password in order that I enter correct one ?

  • That it very odd, it should not use your PC login details. After it trys to login, what error do you see? Its possible that its trying to use the same account you used to login in to the Lync Client if you saved credentials. however if that didnt fail I would expect the same of the store app.

Have you configured DNS records for lyncdiscover.domain.com?
