Logging into localhost/ecp fails 'HTTP 500 Internal Server error' RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I've been having issues logging into localhost/ecp. When I enter it in my browser it takes me to localhost/owa. I enter my login information anyway but it takes forever until it eventually fails to load with an 'HTTP 500 Internal Server error" message in the tab of IE.

I've installed Exchange before on a different Hyper-V machine before but unfortunately that machine crashed so I had to make a new one. Nonetheless, I've used Exchange quite a lot and never experienced this issue. I think my bindings are not right. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should try to fix this?

  • What I did was "uninstall" Exchange from my machine which involved manually deleting some users Exchange created in Active Directory and manually removing some files and keys in regedit on my Exchange server. It was supposed to fix it with a simple reinstall but I think I screwed something in the process so reinstall wasn't successful. Fortunately a clean install did the trick. I'm able to get back in now, which otherwise no matter how many times restarting fresh could have done. The trick was to "reset" the old install of Exchange in Active Directory from my first install. Because my first install in Hyper-V had crashed and wasn't being used anymore, there must have been a conflict with the new install. If anyone else is having this problem just search how to uninstall Exchange from Active Directory.

  • Try with the Server Name

    Check the IIS setting...

If possible then try to restart the IIS

Check the Certificates binding on the ECP
