Server 2012 R2 not rebooting after installing updates at Automatic Maintenance time. RRS feed

    I have a 2012 R2 domain server that is set to run Automatic Maintenance tasks daily at 3:00 AM this was set from the control panel. Last night it installed the updates from WSUS at 6:45 am and rebooted at 7:05 AM. 

    The Configure Automatic Updates GPO is set to 5 - Allow local admin to choose setting. However the Scheduled install day is set to Every day with a scheduled time of 6:00 am, but this is only supposed to be applicable if you are set to 4. And this doesn't affect our Server 2008 R2 servers which are all also set to 5.

    Have you configured the "lways automatically restart at the scheduled time" in the group policy? If no, please try to configure it.

    The full path of this policy is:

    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update\Always automatically restart at the scheduled time

    we have the same problem!

    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update\Always automatically restart at the scheduled time is enabled, but it is NOT WORKING if a user is logged on. If no user is logged on, automatic update works fine and machine reboots immediately.

    Any tipps for fixing this problem?
