Reformating vista problems RRS feed

  • I want to wipe out my hardive because the fact off my past issues. thread here

    and it worsen to where it wont let me instal anything anymore.

    ive tryed everything for it that i can think of so im planning to Finnish it off. but the thing is i dont know how to regain my key when i upgrade back to vista. or any tricks to reuse it.

    the vista i have is a upgrade disk from XP to Vista home premium.

    the thing is tho when i try to put the disk to reformat my harddrive it wont show the disk nor the hardrive when i go to my computer.

    so basically wont let me reformat at all.

    so what im asking is how do i reuse the upgrade disk and make vista reconise that i wanna reformat.

    this is a question for ANYONE even Bill Gates himself.

    all help will be greatly appreciated

    The Vista Upgrade disk cannot install to a formatted hard drive. It is configured to start the upgrade form within Windows and perform an upgrade only.


    There is a workaround for this that does allow you to perform a clean install using the upgrade disk.
