Mailbox creation date RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any easy way to see when a mailbox was created. Ideally if I could do this via ADUC (active directory users and computers).

Can you use the domain creation date (where the domain account is the owner of the mailbox) and a good indicator of when the mailbox was created? In ADUC is there any easy way to see when he domain account was created - i.e. run a report for all domain accounts?

  • You can use the exchange powershell command

    get-mailbox | Select-Object DisplayName, PrimarySmtpAddress, WhenCreated

then copy and paste to excel if you want to manipulate the data

  • Hi,

RichardUwins’s script is for exchange 2007 and 2010.

In ADUC, you can get the creation time of the User object by the following steps:

    For serve 2008:
Open ADUC->click View->select ‘Advanced Features’->find your domain name->System->Users, right click the user you want to find in the right window->click Properties->click ‘Attribute Editor’ tab, and you will find creation time of the user in the ‘whenCreated’ attribute of ‘Attributes’ window.

    For server 2003:

Open ADUC, on the menu bar click View-Advanced Features. Then open the properties of a user object, In the new tab ‘Object’. You will find the Object Created time.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
