  • i just did a recovery for xp on my laptop someoone had put linux on it it still tries to boot with linux but stops with an error 17

  • Well Since is a linux shell.. as you are aware Microsoft will never troubleshoot linux.. so why not you download seagate sea tools and write your hard disk to 0.. and try again ?

    linux have a hidden partition which you need to remove in order to allow the logical hard disk to detect the OS.

  • how do i get rid of the partition? i can acess the menu with F12

  • Hi,

    If you right click on My Computer, click Manage and select Disk Managment

    In there you should see your disk partitions.

    Can you post what partitions are available and are any of them labeled X3

  • i just downloaded seagate sea tools and have to wait after work to try that, i cant get past the boot      ill post what happens, thank you
