Self Service Recovery Tool error 33107

    Question

  • Have new DPM 2010 protecting a SQL 2008 instance. I set up self service recovery on the DPM with correct groups etc. I installed the end user recovery tool on my Win 7 PC. When I try to connect to the DPM I get "connection refused. Your user account is not configured as an authorized end user on this server" "ID:33107" The "more information" link goes to a "page not found" technet article, of course.

I am Domain Admin, have checked all groups. Why doesn't this work?

  • Try creating a new role with your domain user again just for testing purpose and try the recovery again.  Assuming you get the same error, on your Win7 machine, look for the log that was updated when you last tried to run the tool in:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010\

It will likely have an error towards the bottom.  You can just post the last 15 or 20 lines where the error is shown.

  • So I"m having this issue.  I am on a Windows 7 machine logging in as a non-domain admin account.  If I run SSRT as a domain admin account, then the restore works.

Here is the data from the EURClient0Curr.errlog:

I can confirm the agent is installed and SQL server is protected by the DPM server.  I've been able to restore databases as domain-admin but not non-domain admin.  Any ideas?

  • Dave,

Please start a new thread for this.  That way we can look at it from the beginning and of course include the log snip.  It will also then mark your question as unanswered and give it more attention.  Thanks.
