14-Days History No Data ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

One account is showing at least the Bar (svcFFCS) but mine does not show anything under 14-Days history... Microsoft Forefront Client Security cannot display this report. .. I am able to see all other reports like Deployment Summary, Computer Summary...
So two issues here: 1 . No Data 2. No Access
    Strange ... it is a 6-servers architecture...

I was able to have now Bars for both accounts adding on each profile the http:/votfcsrs1 in the trusted zone. But still no data to populate it... the task ran on SOPFCSRS1 fine sucessully 0x0 with my account. Which table(s) should be populated? by which data? as it is new installation two days should I have data already or is it only errors?

I noticed a parameter in the task: "Configure for" Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003" OR "Windows Vista , Windows Server 2008" what is it refrring to? the Servers hosting FCS or the Clients Type? if I have a mixed environment with XP, Windows7, ... what should be set?

    Thanks,
    Dom

  • Hello did you try this

14 Day History report does not display in the Client Security console

When you open the Client Security console, you might notice the following message under 14 Day History report:

    Error message

Microsoft Forefront Client Security cannot display this report. Confirm that the reporting server is available, the account name and password are correct, and the account has permissions to access the report.

    Background

There are two possible causes for this issue:

    • The user opening the Client Security console has not been granted Client Security Report Viewer permissions. For more information, see Working with user roles in the Client Security Administration Guide (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=86555).
    • The SQL Server Reporting Services site needs to be added to the list of trusted sites. To add the SQL Server Reporting Services site to the list of trusted sites, perform the following procedure.
    Solution

To solve this issue, do the following.

To add the SQL Reporting Services site to the list of trusted sites
    1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options .

    2. Click the Security tab, and then click the Local intranet zone.

    3. Click the Sites button.

      note Note:
If you have not disabled the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration in Windows Server 2003, go to step 5.

    4. Click the Advanced button.

    5. In the Add this website to the zone box, type the URL of the SQL Server Reporting Services site. For example, http://servername .

    6. Click Add , click Close , and then click OK for all subsequent dialog boxes.

    7. Refresh the Client Security console.

    Regards.

    SOPFCSRS1 (Database Reporting Server)

    VOTFCSCS1 (Collection Server)

    VOTFCSRS1 (Reporting Service Server)

  • I see where's the problem I've got the same one. In fact it's on the way Windows 2008 handle the Scheduled Task : there's a right missing.

If I remember on the collection database server (the one where the DTS task is hosted) :

On the « Start » menu go to  All Programs => Administrative Tools and launch: « Local Security Policy ».

    Select « Log on as a batch job » on the node « Security Settings » => « Local Policies » => « User Rights Assignment ».

Add the DTS service account to use on the properties.

Then and on the Windows Server 2008 Scheduled Task launch manually the DTS task to check if all goes fine.

    Hello,

The task is for me on the Database Reporting Server (SOPFCSRS1), not on the Database Collection Server (SOPFCSDB1) is something wrong during the installation?

On SOPFCSRS1 I did LPO... Add svcFFCS account which is the Forefront Client Security account used for service "When running the task, use the following use account ad\svcFFCS"

    The task ran sucessfully. 0x0.

Nothing after 15 minutes in the 14-Days history...

    I even reboot the five(5) servers SOPFCSRS1, SOPFCSDB1, VOTFCSMS1, VOTFCSRS1, VOTFCSCS1.(** the reporting http://votfcsrs1/reports works still)

Should I add also the account on the LPO of the Reporting Service Server (VOTFCSRS1) the one which has the web sites /reports, /ReportServer?

Do you know which data should be displayed, so I will check the database to confirm there is something in these views, tables...

I ran again the SystemCenterDTSPackageTask successfully but still No Data on the dashboard, what is the link between the Dashboard (VOTFCSMS1) and the Database Reporting (SOPFCSRS1) or the Web Site (VOTFCSRS1)... what exactly is called by the dashboard? is it possible to run this call manually?

** I noticed a parameter in the task: "Configure for" Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003" OR "Windows Vista , Windows Server 2008" what is it refrring to? the Servers hosting FCS or the Clients Type? if I have a mixed environment with XP, Windows7, ... what should be set?

is it a parameter which should be changed?

The task is running well but the display is not working, ... so what is the link?

Do I need any spoecific in SQL like sp_addlinkedsrvlogin on one of the six servers:

    SOPFCSDB1 (Database Collection Server)

    SOPFCSRS1 (Database Reporting Server)

    VOTFCSCS1 (Collection Server)

    VOTFCSRS1 (Reporting Service Server)

    VOTFCSMS1 (Management Server)

    WSUS01 (WSUS Server)

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

    I am reviewing files under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Server\DTSScriptfFiles.

    I have the two servers:

SOPFCSDB1 Database Collection Server with OnePoint DB

SOPFCSRS1 Database Reporting Server with SystemCenterReporting DB

I check the two log files in the folder:

SOPFCSDB1.OnePoint.LOG and I have warnings... is it normal?

    ::Warning::
Transfer Status: Scripting dependent object drops
The object 'dbo.fcs_deployment_get' not being transfered is dependent on the table 'dbo.fcs_ProfileDeployments' being transfered.
    ... ... MORE ... MORE...
    ::Warning::
Transfer Status: Scripting dependent object drops
The object 'dbo.fcs_SetOptIntoMU' not being transfered is dependent on the table 'dbo.fcs_Version' being transfered.

    and on the other file:

SOPFCSRS1.SystemCenterReporting.LOG ==> This file is empty is it normal?

    Thanks,
    Dom

  • I posted also some comments on the solution I found in http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Application_Servers/.Net/Q_24176054.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+10+somacct as it is not expected:

    1. To install SQL on the Collection Server

    2. To Copy the Server\Reporting Folder from the Database Reporting Server to the Collection Server

I am worried by these extra steps really out of proper designed software!!!

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • Hello,

a good idea to install the FCS Dashboard also on another server (I am thinking to start on the Database Reporting Server - SOPFCSRS1) to verify that the dashboard is catching the data from the table?

Then on the Reporting Service Server (VOTFCSRS1) to verify the URL is working... (If I know which URL i called?)

Then on the Collection Server (VOTFCSCS1) to cnfirm the data is propagated and accessible

Then back on the Management Server (VOTFCSMS1) where it should be...

Also I just noticed the MOM Service is not running on the  Management Server??? is it usual??? it is running on all other servers DBCS, DBRS, RS and CS....

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • Hello,

Still not getting the data on the dashboard.

SystemCenterDTSPackageTask is running fine every night.: The operation completed sucessfully. (0x0) [server SOPFCSRS1: Database Reporting Server]

but still No data on the dashboard!!! [VOTFCSMS1: Management Server]

The reports are populated correctly http://votfcsrs1/reports works fine [Server VOTFCSRS1: Reporting Service Server]

Can I run the dashboard on another server than the Management Server? What should be installed to do it? I have it only on the Management Server [VOTFCSMS1].

Why if I open the MOM 2005 Administration Console > Administartion > Management Servers it shows VOTFCSCS1 the Collection Server and not the VOTFCSMS1 the Management Server? Is it correct?

    Any idea?

    Thanks,
    Dom

  • Hello,

As I still having issues with the 14-Days History always showing "No Data" event the DTS Task is running every night.

I was looking ate this thread...

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Forefrontclientsetup/thread/74e58981-7fda-4f3d-bcd0-4faf5dd1a901/

    You can try this out:

    - First install the FCS Client on your XP PC

-Then run the FCSMS.MSI form the server dir on the CD (ignore any error messages)

-Next Export the following key from your FCS server :
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\1.0\Config]

    - Import this on your XP PC.

    - On your XP PC stop and disable the "Microsoft Forefront Client Security Management Service"

    - Now go to Start\Programs\Microsoft ForeFront\Client Security and start the FCS console.

but I am getting an error also on these steps:
Error 1406. Could not write value Configuration Suceeded to key \Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\1.0\Config. Verify you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personel.

And there is no access to the FCS Console through Start > Programs > Microsoft ForeFront > Client Security

I have only Start\Programs\Microsoft ForeFront\Forefront Client Security which is the Client...

    Any other path?

    Thanks,
    Dom
