Blocked access to your inbox, contacts list, and calendar

    Question

  • Microsoft Accounts Team sent me the following email:

    Verify your account
We detected something unusual about a recent sign-in for the Microsoft account ********@white*******.com.au. For example, you might be signing in from a new location, device, or app.
To help keep you safe, we've blocked access to your inbox, contacts list, and calendar for that sign-in. Please review your recent activity and we'll help you take corrective action. To regain access, you'll need to confirm that the recent activity was yours.

    Thanks,

    The Microsoft account team

I have clicked on the link and there is no option to verify my account and now I can not send any email from this address. I need to fix this asap as it is a company email and I have urgent correspondence to reply to. How do I verify that all the activity list was mine?? HELP!

  • I have the same thing happening here too! I chatted online with two different support agents and neither could fix the problem. I've been referred to a Tier 2 Support call back for tomorrow, which doesn't help my month end today! I think it all started during the Outlook update I received late last week. Did you receive an update as well?

  • PaulaG48,

Yes, I did receive the update and as you said i'm pretty sure that it happened around the same time. After the update the "security" on my account has triple boosted. Crazy. Let me know how you get on. I'm still trying to find someone who can figure it out.

  • I had already checked the activity and it was all mine. However, there was no option for me to confirm that it was me signing in or verify that it was my activity. And I have tried resetting the password multiple times. Nothing seems to work. I am just putting up with signing directly into the account rather than using it linked to my other accounts.
