Excel Services 2013 - Error message when opens a report RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a graphic report from MS_Portfolio_Analyzer cube from OLAP database in a SQL 2012 Analysis Services installed in one box configuration with Project Server 2013. I created and published the report in the trusted connection and file location defined in the Excel Services and using the Target ID from Secure Store Services.

When I try to open the report in the Report Page it returns the following message:

Looking at the log file I found out the following entries:

I tried many times as suggested by the message. The error Id changes, but the log messages are the same.

Can anybody explain me what is going on?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Ricardo,

Please check status of Excel Calculation Services, when you create excel service application, by default this service is not started, you have to start manually.

  • Hi Hrishi,

You are right. I do not know when it happened, but Excel Calculation Services and PerformancePoint Services were down. I started them and I could see the report in the browser.

Can I Interact with the report in the browser, such as use a filter or slice or refresh the data? Or is it possible only when I open the report in Excel? In the first case I am getting the following message:

Excel is configured to trust on all external data sources and network locations in the Trust Center Settings.

    Thank you.
