Consolidated report across more than one model RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using  Great plains  as our ERP applicatioon  and exploring the options of using report builder as ad hoc reporting too for end user reporting.  In GP each company has an exclusive database.  I have created a report model for each of the company and users are good to go with reporting for each company.

However fthe finance department would like to consolidated report  accross all companies. How can I consolidate each of these company models into one giant model.

  • Hi Vincent,

By design, this is no allowed because the report model entities are only from one datasource(connection). This purpose is really hard to achiever. However, if have to do it, you can try to merge all databases into one using SSIS. Create a database and define a scheme for each company database, then using SSIS to load data from these exclusive databases to fill this newly created database with them. So, now you can create a report model include all of tables from all company databases.

    Hope this helpfully,
