Windows 8 IE 10 BUG!!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can't use any of the buttons in outlook.com, the text edit buttons and even the attachment button. And I find it is actually happened when I restored system in windows 8. The restore that keeps my configurations not the factory restore.

And I'm sure it's a IE 10 bug. I have tested a lot of times in both IE 10 and chrome, the buttons work fine in chrome, but I don't like chrome, I only use IE 10 unless something happened like this one.

And a thing I want to mention is, I found the update for IE 10 from this month actually fixed this problem a bit. Before this month's update, none of the javascript buttons works, but after I installed the updates and removed/re-adding IE 10 in the adding windows features, IE10 let me to use some of the javascript buttons but still not the ones in outlook.com.

So can anyone please help me with this problem? And I think you can easily let it happen on your IE 10 as well. If you are in windows 8 system, just do a system restore with keeping your configurations. And this should be able to break it!!!

  • Hi,

I tested on my lab and the issue could not be reproduced.

Please check if the issue persists in Internet Explorer 10 no add-ons mode. If the issue persists, please

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Regarding compatibility mode, you can press F12 in Internet Explorer and adjust the Browser Mode and Document Mode to see if it works:

Testing sites with Browser Mode vs. Doc Mode

    Thanks.

Thank you for these suggestions, I have tried everything and restored IE even restored windows 8 for a few times, and it's still the same. Did you really try the same thing? Restore the system but not the store to factory state one. What system are you using? Do you mean the outlook.com email will still work in IE10 after you used windows 8 system restore? I don't believe you, because this is actually happened on two computers now. I tried outlook.com as soon as the two computers were just freshly restored and outlook.com just wouldn't work.
