If i migrate 1GB site from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint Online what could be the site size in target?

    Question

  • Hi Team

When i migrate from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint online.

If i have a site in SharePoint 2007 with 1GB  data what could be the site size in SharePoint Online (O365)? is it going to the same or will there be any decrease in size? Any variations expected?

This helps us to plan for more sites in SharePoint online (o365) platform.

    Respond at the earliest.

    with best regards,

    Madhu

If you have items with multiple versions, you can take decision whether to take all the versions to SharePoint Online or take only the recent few versions. It might significantly reduce your size in the target site.

  • More or less the same. It does depend on quite a few variables, mostly how you're capturing the current size, but it should be a more or less 1:1 mapping.
