Upgraded to Office 365 and now Power query does not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • We previously used Microsoft Excel 2013 and I used the Power query add in on this version with no problems. We have now upgraded to Office 365 which has Microsoft Excel 2016. Power Query is fully integrated into this version of Excel but I can't get any of my old power queries to work. I keep getting the following error message:

Expression.Error: Option 'HierarchicalNavigation' is not a valid Odbc.DataSource option. Valid options are: SqlCapabilities.

How can I get these to work?

  • I've never heard of this before. I suggest you try to build a new query in Excel 2016 connecting to one of the sql sources. Then copy the source line of code and compare it to the converted queries that dont work (maybe even replace them)
