Can we use out-of-box SSO for integrating MOSS2007 site and cognos application? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using MOSS2007 and want to access cognos application through content editor web part or iframe on custom page in moss site. Currently cognos application asking to enter username and password. Almost 5 thousand users are accessing my moss site. Once the user enter into moss site by using their credentails, it should not be asked again for cognos application. Can i use oob SSO for achieving this. As far as I know we need to add username and password manually of each user to access other site in MOSS site. I can not ask my 5 thousand user for their credentails.

Please suggest me the best way to implement this. Thanks in advance.

  • Interestingly enough, a Google search would have turned this link up on the IBM site: -

It references both MOSS and WSS, so from the Microsoft side it seems fine.

  • Thanks Steven for quick reply!!!

I have this pdf with me and I was thinking on this direction as well, but it asks to install a lot of softwares on server and it may increase the cost to client. Also it includes a lot of configuration settings are required to do from cognos server as well. I am looking some other way.

I would like to know any other solution apart from this?

Also my main question is can I use MOSS SSO for integration with cognos.
