Configuring Connection Settings in IEAK 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have users in our environment that are being re-directed currently to an Automatic Proxy URL, and we need to disable user functionality to change their LAN Connection settings in IE 10, but I cannot find that option. In other words we don't want them to go to Internet Explorer Settings, Connection Settings, LAN Settings, and turn off the automatic configuration Script.

Where in IEAK 10 can we disable this feature?

  • Hi ,

Based on my knowledge, there is no option to disable user functionality to change their LAN Connection settings in IE 10.

    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer

If you enable this policy, the proxy settings appear dimmed. These settings are in the Proxy Server area of the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box, which appears when the user clicks the Connections tab and then clicks the LAN Settings button in the Internet Options dialog box.

If you set the Disable the Connections page policy (located in User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel), you do not need
to set this policy, because the Disable the Connections page policy removes the Connections tab from the interface.

For more details, you may refer to the following link:

    Hope this works.

  • Blair, this setting was available in Group Policy Editor, but now it's not? Also, GP doesn't apply to IE10 or higher so how can I make those changes? Your solution does not apply to this.
