Office products slow down when the number of equation increase RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently, I am writing a conference paper, which only provides the template for word. But, I am encountering a problem. The Word becomes slower and slower while the number of equations is increasing. Ultimately, it would become very unstable or even crashed. I am wondering if there is a way to stop the word showing the professional format of equation representations during my writing. I believe this can temporarily fix the problem. Thanks!

  • Hi,

Based on my research, this seems a known issue that Word performances drop when complex equations are inserted. Currently, the workaround is to use the Draft view (View tab > Draft) instead of the standard Print Layout view.
