Windows PS ISE update-help

    Question

  • Hi,

    Try to update-help but receiving these errors:

    OS: Windows 7 Ent (version 6.1 Build 7601 SP1)

    update-help : Failed to update Help for the module(s) 'CimCmdlets, ISE, Microsoft.PowerShell.Archive, Microsoft.PowerShell.Core, Microsoft.PowerShell.Diagnostics, Microsoft.PowerShell.Host,

    Microsoft.PowerShell.LocalAccounts, Microsoft.PowerShell.Management, Microsoft.PowerShell.ODataUtils, Microsoft.PowerShell.Security, Microsoft.PowerShell.Utility,

    Microsoft.WSMan.Management, NetworkSwitchManager, PackageManagement, PowerShellGet, PSDesiredStateConfiguration, PSScheduledJob, PSWorkflow, PSWorkflowUtility' with UI culture(s) {en-US} :

    Unable to connect to Help content. The server on which Help content is stored might not be available. Verify that the server is available, or wait until the server is back online, and then

    try the command again.

    Are you connected to the Internet and not through any proxy?

    Tried the working behind a proxy workaround still getting error:

  • You could use the Save-Help cmdlet on a computer with Internet access to save the help to an accessible destination, and then use the Update-Help cmdlet with the source parameter on a computer that doesn't have Internet access.

    Save-Help -DestinationPath C:\Temp\help -Module * -Force

    Update-Help -SourcePath C:\Temp\help -Module * -Force
