Blue Exclamation on IPv4??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The IPv4 scope on my DHCP server has the blue circle with white exclamation on it.  I looked up the symbol and it says:

DHCP server alert. No addresses are available from server scopes because the maximum (100 percent) of the addresses allocated for use are currently leased. This represents a failure of the DHCP server on the network because it is not able to lease or service clients.

However, when I click on Display Statistics, I have 88% addresses available.  I checked each scope and the lowest % for available was 63%.  I already tried to Reconcile All Scopes and I get The database is consistent.  I've tried stopping and restarting the DHCP Server service and at first I get the Green circle with the white check, but when I expand the IPv4 scope, it goes to the Blue circle with white exclamation.  I checked the event viewer log files for System and Filtered for DHCP Server and the only Warning I see is

This computer has at least one dynamically assigned IPv6 address. For reliavle DHCPv6 server operation, you shoulduse only static IPv6 addresses.

Which is odd, because I have IPv6 unchecked on my network adapter and there is no configuration for IPv6 on DHCP.

    What is going on???

Did you deactivate the scope? If it is the case,it will turn to a green V when you activate a scope. When you deactivate the scope that deactivating is akin to removing it without having to re-create it when you re-activate it.
