Script to install using msiexec and a code failing - The WSMan client cannot process the request. Proxy is not supported under HTTP transport" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Am trying to deploy an .msi using PS. Here's the code:

    $systems = get-content "C:\cb\systems.txt"
    foreach ($system in $systems)
    {
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName $system {
    Start-Process  -Filepath  "C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe" -Argumentlist "/q C:\cb\some.msi" TRANSFORMS=the.mst COMPANY_CODE=code PROXY_SERVER=server:8080 CURL_CRL_CHECK=0

    But I am getting the error: The WSMan client cannot process the request. Proxy is not supported under HTTP transport"

    The article asks to contact MS support for a solution.

    Can anyone help?

  • Your system is set to use a proxy server and it will not work with PowerShell.  This is not a PowerShell issue. Contact your network admins and have them look at how the proxy server is set up.  They will have to either fix it or tell you that remoting will not work in your network.
