    Question

  • Hi Team,

We are have Exchange 2013 with Cumulative update 14 in our environment. We have migrated few user to office365 by setting up Hybrid Environment. Now on-premises users are able to receive email from cloud user. But, on-premises users are unable to send mails to cloud users. we have added target address for that cloud user, still not receiving email.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

For your question, I want to confirm:
    1. Is there any NDR return to sender?
    2. Do you have Edge server in your environment, or firewall between On-premise Exchange and Exchange Online?

The mail flow between Exchange On-premise and Exchange Online will responsible by connector, you can find a send and receive connector in each side. By default, it'll created by HCW and you can modify it in each side.

Since this issue occur on failed send message from On-premise to Exchange Online, you can check the send connector setting in On-premise and receive connector setting in Exchange Online.

  • Have you looked at the SMTP queues?  What do you see?

This is probably going to require tweaking the configuration of your hybrid inbound connector in Office 365.  If it set to certificate authentication, try changing it to IP address authentication and enter the IP address that the outbound mail uses connecting to Office 365.
