How to restrict which Project Views a Group can see? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a category ACATEGORY that has team members as the template and then selected a single unique view.

I made a group, AGROUP that contained only ACATEGORY and added the user to that group. When the user logs in he she can't view the Projects of which she is a team member. Failed to load the view.

I need to organize which views are available for selection based on groups, and for that I believe I need to use categories, maybe there is another way?

  • Correct, use categories to achieve the behavior you're looking for.

  • Thanks. Tried thrice now. Not working. Failed to load Project Center View and Project Details View. Put the user back into Team Members and it works as expected but I need to be able to reduce the view selections. Watched 3 videos for project 2013 which were based on the SharePoint 2007 but everything setting seems the same. I'm conceptually missing something. But If I make a category same as Team Members and a Group same as Team Members and then associate them and then put my user there it seems that is how it should go.
