RDP using socket forwarding 64 bit machines RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We use IAG 2007 SP2 Update3. We allow some users to have RDP access to thier office PC's. We use "Microsoft Windows XP/Vista Terminal Services Client" Application Type and Socket Forwarding is set to Basic. Works fine for 32bit machines.

I realise that 64bit machines do not work with Socket Forwarding on IAG, but is there any alternative to us having to create a new application for each RDP and having Socket Forwarding set to Disabled? More and more users now have 64bit PCs and our application list is getting longer and longer.

  • Actually, with the latest update for IAG, 64 bit apps are supposed to work. Regardless, you can create a generic client/server application, for which you can set socket forwarding to be disabled, and it can allow the RDP traffic that you require.
