Word 2010 gives Normal.dotm error from terminal server RRS feed

    We have Installed 32-bit Word 2010 in a 64-bit Windows Server R2 working as a Terminal Server and published Word 2010 as a remote app to the users.  When users opens Word ...some of the users encounter the below error.

    "The file Normal.dotm cannot be opened because there are problems with its content."

    I am wondering what is causing this problem. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

     

    The Normal.dotm file might be corrupted. we can try to rename the Word Global Template:

    • Exit all Office programs.
    • Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

    Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Start, in the Search box, type command prompt. right click on command prompt and choose run as administrator.

    • Type the following command, as appropriate for the version of Word that you are running, and then press ENTER:

    ren %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm OldNormal.dotm

    • Type exit, and then press ENTER.
