Issue Installing Visual Studio 2005 RRS feed

  • Im attempting to Install Visual Studios 2005 running windows 7 Os . The file was downloaded as an Iso and then sent to my temp folder, When I select for the program to begin installing , it not even go past the fist step of install , Its error code is 1311 , Source not found, and references 3_RTL__X86-enu_Core_IDE.cab. and asks me to verify that this file exists , I looked thru all the downloaded files and this file is contained , need help please , is vs 05 not compatable with windows 7 , If it is compatable, can anyone tell me what I may be missing in order to let this program work.

    You can try the following steps to troubleshoot this issue:

     

    1. Right-click the Visual Studios installation exe file and choose Properties.

    2. Under the Compatibility tab, please check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Windows Vista SP2.

    3. Under Privilege Level, check the “Run this program as administrator” box.

    4. Click OK to save the settings.

     

    Try to install it.

     

    If it does not work, you can prepare a blank DVD and burn the ISO to it. Right click on the ISO and choose Burn disc image.

     

    In addition, I suggest using the "Visual Studios" Forum which would be the more relevant forums for your question.

  • Thanks very much Ill give these recomendations a shot. Seems a trick to usinf Windows 7 is to always run as admin if any problems occur in install.
