OCS 2007 R1 to Lync migration - RCC issues with CUPS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

im currently migrationg from an OCS 2007 R1 environment to Lync.

All has gone very smoothly with the exception of RCC integration with Cisco (CUPS 7.0.5). We are usng Lync 2010 standard with a co-located mediation server.

I have followed http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/gg398975.aspx, but am having difficulty with getting some of the commands to work and am hoping some people can help

    New-CsTrustedApplicationPool -Identity <FQDN of Lync SE server> -Registrar <FQDN of CUPS> -Site 1 -TreatAsAuthenticated $true -ThrottleAsServer $true

this fails stating that the pool <FQDN of CUPS> does not exist....

Im sure im getting something simple wrong - suggestions ?

  • Hi,

    The command should be:

    New-CsTrustedApplicationPool -Identity <FQDN of CUPS> -Registrar <FQDN of Lync SE server> -Site 1 -TreatAsAuthenticated $true -ThrottleAsServer $true

The identity should be the FQDN of the application, the Registrar the FQDN of the Lync server where the application will register to.

  • thanks ruben - that did the trick...

I do get a warning stating that the machine isnt in the AD - which its not... because its a CUPS box.... is this going to cause any issue (sorry if its a silly question - this is my first Lync/Cisco integration)

  • Hi, I'm trying to integrate Lync 2010 with Presence too, but can't make it work. I can't actually make Lync to even try to control the phone via SIP. I don't really know much about Microsoft, and am trying to follow this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/gg398975.aspx Let's say my CUPS server is: cups01 172.16.1.5 and lync is lync.lab.net 172.16.1.7 domain controller for lab.net: 172.16.1.6 running DNS. I've got this configuration: PS C:\Users\administrator.TC> Get-CsTrustedApplicationPool Identity : TrustedApplicationPool:cups01 Registrar : Registrar:lync.tc.net FileStore : ThrottleAsServer : True TreatAsAuthenticated : True OutboundOnly : False RequiresReplication : True AudioPortStart : AudioPortCount : 0 AppSharingPortStart : AppSharingPortCount : 0 VideoPortStart : VideoPortCount : 0 Applications : {urn:application:1-externalserver-1} DependentServiceList : {} ServiceId : 1-ExternalServer-1 SiteId : Site:London PoolFqdn : cups01 Version : 5 Role : TrustedApplicationPool PS C:\Users\administrator.TC> Get-CsTrustedApplicationComputer Identity : cups01 Pool : cups01 Fqdn : cups01 PS C:\Users\administrator.TC> Get-CsTrustedApplication Identity : cups01/urn:application:1-externalserver-1 ComputerGruus : {cups01 sip:cups01@labdomain.com;gruu;op aque=srvr:1-externalserver-1:wls_N5mhc1Wla9T9eJQ8Y QAA} ServiceGruu : sip:cups01@labdomain.com;gruu;opaque=srvr:1- externalserver-1:wls_N5mhc1Wla9T9eJQ8YQAA Protocol : Tcp ApplicationId : urn:application:1-externalserver-1 TrustedApplicationPoolFqdn : cups01 Port : 5060 LegacyApplicationName : 1-externalserver-1 If anyone can tell me if I'm missing something?
