Cluster Shared Volumes will need single volume or separate RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

i am going to install hyper v failover clustering, 6 guest OS going to install on host server.

My doubt is each Guest OS need separate partition and attach to  Cluster Shared Volumes or only one large single partition then configure Cluster Shared Volumes and create VHD for each guest OS   ? which will be the best configuration?

  • I Advise you to create :

    - 1 LUN (no CSV) used as pass-through disk to run the ADCS VM

    - 1 LUN (CSV) for your SQL and your applications VMs if they use the database server

    - 1 LUN (CSV) for the rest ...

  • Hi Thomas,

What kind of virtual machines (applications) are you going to deploy ?

As you only gonna deploy 6 VMs, I advise you to create 1 LUN (CSV) between 500 Go and 1 To
