Which performance counter (timer) use in Win 7? RTC timer/ HPET/ TSC RRS feed

    I found timer lag in Win 7 OS, if run AP that AP checked system timer contiunes in OS.
    The system cannot find device - system times in device manage. In Vista OS, I can found system timer in device manage, because Vista support system timer and HPET.
    But Win 7 OS seems did not support HPET.
    Please help to check which performance counter (system timer/ HPET/ TSC/ or others) support in Win 7 OS? System plarform AMD Tigris Platform.

    Hi,

    As far as I know, HPET is supported in Windows 7.
    Please make sure you go into the BIOS --> Power Management and check to see if the HPET is enabled.
    Set the HPET to 32/64 bit mode depending on the Windows 7 version that you install.
