Windows 10 1803 Autologon not working on new deployment share RRS feed

  • Not sure if this is your case but i had a similar problem. Back in (i think it was) v1703 there was a problem with autologon. You'll find several online solutions for that v1703 problem (like registry hacks or changes to unattend.xml) but that problem was fixed in subsequent update. And those hacks/changes should no longer be needed.

I was having the problem with v1803 and couldn't any one of those recommendations to get autologon work. In my case, I found the capture HAD to be done when the PC wasn't joined to the domain (i.e. was a workstation).

In fact, I saw this fact stated in documentation from the start but it didn't seem to make a difference (at least for me) till v1703 rolled around.

  • I would stay away from DFSR and use the Linked Deployment Share option inside the deployment workbench
