Import weight data RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems like it should be easy to import weight history from an Excel spreadsheet, but I don't see the option.

I've been recording my weight on the Hackers Diet Online site http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/ since about 2009. Would be nice to import that here.

  • Hello,

Presently there is not a way to import  excel  data directly to the Weight section of your HealthVault account, but you can import it as a document so that it is stored in your account.  I will be happy to pass on your great suggestion to the development team for consideration in a future release.  Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks for contacting HealthVault Forums

  • What is the status of this request?

I too have tracked weight in an excel speadsheet and there should be a simple method to import data directly or through a delimited file.   just importing the file as a document does not provide any value add.

  • We are currently working on this request. There's a bit more than just parsing the data out of a file. Our data is strongly typed so there is a decent amount of work in parsing random arbitrary strings and date formats. Also unit conversions - pounds to kilograms, feet / inches to centimeters, and presenting a usable UI to allow users to intelligently choose what format their data is and what columns map to which properties.  We do not have a date when this will be released, but we are working on it and understand the importance of this feature.
