SBS 2011 Standard RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a SBS 2011 Standard and every week or so the client complains that the email is not coming into the server. The Clients email is hosted at an external web site. I have the retrieve set to 5 minutes but it doesnt seem to work.  When I do a retrieve manully SBS Pop3 Service encountered one or more problems

Any Ideas would be helpful to resolve this issue.

    Thanks

  • “C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Bin\POP3Connector.exe” can be launched from the command prompt with the logVerbose switch to enable diagnostics logging.

    Pop3Connector.exe /logverbose

POP3 Connector related errors and events are recorded in Event Viewer under the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server/Operational log.

Events are written in the pop3service.log located in “C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business server\Logs\pop3connector” when you enable diagnostics logging or when you click “Retrieve Now”

Following link http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2009/07/01/sbs-2008-introducing-the-pop3-connector.aspx is an excellent place to start with .

Events and pop3service.log is required to find out what is failing where.

  • Two things here
    a.  Why are you using the POP3 connector?

    b.  Have you tried setting it to 15 minutes as a test?
