What should be the configuration of Reporting server ?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone

we have just migrated our reporting database to a new server(virtual) with 32 gb ram capacity, our entire database server(physical)including reporting database had a capacity of 128 gb,there are two live instances of PWA site consisting of 1000 and 700 users  and 9-10 reports, previously our reports used to take 5-10 mns to generate, but after migrating reporting database  to a new server, reports are taking more than 20 mns to generate

and sometimes didn't get genertae as well, what could be the reason???

CPU utlization of new server is more than 70% when only a single report is run and RAM utilzation is only 13 gb

  • Anuj,

Did you move only Reporting database?

Make sure that you have MS recommended project server database maintenance plan in place.

Apart from CPU, you may need to look into db storage drive performance. Also make  sure that system time is in sync between all the servers in the farm.
