IE 9 reinstallation issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried the below steps to uninstall IE 9 in my Windows 7 home basis.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2509039?wa=wsignin1.0

After that ran this "IE9-Windows7-x64-enu" but throws error as " Internet Explorer 9 is already installed on this system
     ".

Can some assist to fix this ASAP. Other browsers also i have but Juniper network ( VPN ) not working.

I believe IE is best to support connect with VPN.

    Thnks in Advance !

    Regards,

    Ramprakash Arun.

  • Did you ever change your windows update settings ?

ie9 as well as ie10 were and are released as Important windows updates so if your still receiving automatic updates both would download and install.

Go to Uninstall a program, On the top left click on Turn windows features On or Off,

See if ie9 is listed and is Checked.

  • Hi All,

    Finally i tried the below,

Open Internet options ( if possible through internet explorer)
but if you are unable to open it through there.
    Start
    Type in search: internet options
    Click the advanced tab
    and reset internet explorer settings.

    Or

go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Click Reset

I did this for my IE crash as well as i faced "http://search.snap.do/" kind of unwanted url opened during startup of browser.

  • Dude,

No and pblm is i deleted all IE related key details using Reg Edit while uninstalling. Now not able to install another or same version it completely. Reason why i uninstalled is got some *.dll file is missing like that. please refer the images below.

I guess i did mess-up with IE 9. I need IE back with any version because my off system VPN won't connect with other browsers ....

Your Help is highly Appreciable ....
