Name Spelled Wrong in Calendar Section - textEncodedORAddress RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a user who recently had their name changed in AD. It appears everything is good except on his calendar in Outlook. On the bottom right hand side of a calendar appointment, it displays "Last modified by USERNAME". This is where the user's name shows up with the wrong spelling. I have looked all over AD and I ran across the "textEncodedORAddress" field using ADSI Edit. Is this the field where "Last modified by USERNAME" is pulled from? Is it ok to just update this field using ADSI edit? Thanks

  • Hi Jason,

As I know, there is no way to change the <username> which follow the "Last modified by" currently, because it is by design and write into hard code.

    2 Workaround:

a, Disable the old mailbox after exporting all messages, then create a new mailbox and link to the AD user. Finally, import all messages to the new mailbox.

b, Hide the "Last modified by", user can change permission level to stop the calendar sharing.

  • Hi Jason,
The name you see in the botton right hand side, is stored on the item itself.
It can´t be modifed with any tools in Exchange or in AD.

The only solution, is to have the user change something on the calendar item.

  • Frank,

I thank you for the answer and your patience. The user has been out of the office for the past week and a half now. I hope to catch up with him later this week. I will report back with the results.

  • I am having this same problem.  The user's maiden name is showing up in the "Last modified by USERNAME" and I need it to show her married name.
