How to tell FCS team about a virus RRS feed

  • Dear Friends;

    IMPORTANT:  How to tell Microsoft FCS Team about a Trojan horse that can't be detected by FCS with latest definition updates?

    One of our customers has a lot of computers infected by a Trojan horse which decreases the computer performance and can't be detected by FCS.

  • Multiple ways..

    First/easiest is to submit samples of the malware to the security portal at http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal and use the "Submit a Sample" button at the top.

    2nd method would be to open a case directly with CSS Security and we will work with you to get the sample submitted via our internal portal with a higher priority for an FCS customer which usually means its analyzed and definitions are out within 24 hours from what I have seen anyway (we don't have any SLA's around timeframes though just stating what I've seen).   Cases for malware with CSS Security are free cases so don't feel you need to pull out the cc etc to get the case going.  I believe the main # is 1-800-936-5800 ...
