    I was wondering if Microsoft Lync has voice mail built into the server, or does it require the use of Exchange UM?

    We would be looking to deploy Lync standard for approximately 80 users (with new phones), but aren't using Exchange.

    Hi,

    there's no Voice mail built in to the Lycn Server 2010 or OCS 2007 R2. you must use Exchange 2007/2010 if you plan to have Voice mail. There's no other way.
