WUSA error 0x800703f0 in startup script RRS feed

  • Hi, I have searched for a solution to this problem for ages but I cant find one and its driving me mad!
I am trying to deploy a hotfix msu file (KB943729) via startup script to get Group Policy Preferences working on Vista.
When I run the WUSA command I get this error message:

    Installer encountered an error: 0x800703f0
An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist.

If I run the script while logged on as an administrator it installs fine, so why wont it install during startup (which if im not mistaken is under SYSTEM)
Ive tried running it in VBScript and Batch script, copying the msu from network to local hard drive and executing it there, same problem.
    Any help appreciated. Thanks
