APP-V 5 standalone streaming RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently switched from App-V 4 to pure App-V 5.  We do not use an App-V server.  In v4 we published apps via script with the client having the AllowIndependentFileStreaming key enabled so apps would stream from a server.  With v5, if I add and publish the app via powershell, rather than streaming the app, the entire app gets downloaded to C:\ProgramData\App-V.  I can see that only 3% of the app has loaded but the entire 820 MB looks like it was cached.  We are not using the shared content store and Im not seeing anything about the independent file streaming with v5.  Did we loose the ability to stream standalone with v5 or am I missing something?

I will also add that about half our system use SCCM 2012 and get their virtual apps through it.  Those apps are set to stream instead of download but they appear to have the same problem, the entire app looks like it get cached.
