Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is not Installed error. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use a DELL Inspirion 14 laptop with Windows 7 on it. I've been trying to use my Lexmark scanner/printer, but it continues to give me an error that I do not have .NET Framework 2.0. I do have 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 on my computer and it's turned on. Please help.

  • Hi,

the latest driver is 2.2.11.4 from 2009/11/18. Do you use this driver? If not, make an update!

  • Are you using the latest lexmark drivers? If not try the latest drivers. If you still have the issue contact lexmark support and request an updated driver which works under Windows 7.

  • Hi,

What is the model of your Lexmark scanner/printer? Did you upgrade windows vista to windows 7 or clean install?

As Windows 7 (all editions) includes the .NET Framework 3.5.1 as an OS component.  This means you will get the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 plus a few post 3.5 SP1 bug fixes.

You may follow the two setps shown below to see if the issue is fixed.

    1. Check whether you have turned on the windows feature of .NET Framework 3.5.1.
Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off -> Check the box next to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.

Restarted my computer, uninstalled the previous version of Lexmark software, restarted the computer again (so the unistall would be complete), and then downladed to current Windows 7 software/drivers for your device (according to Lexmark medol) from the Lexmark site (DO NOT use the discs that came with your device).

    2. Use Verification Tool to verify .Net Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0SP2, 3.5 SP1. If .Net Framework cannot be verified on your computer, you can try to follow the steps mentioned in the following blog to repair them though this article is about vista.

  • I'm using a Lexmark x4690, I've looked at the solutions Lexmark offers and the problem persists. My Windows 7 came default, so I suppose it was a clean install. I have activated the Framework in the Control Panel and the Verification Tool has verified that it's running. Still nothing working though.
