Run PowerShell scripts during Startup, LogOn, LogOff and Shutdown (always)

  • Thank to this question we have found a way to achieve what we want, running event triggered (Startup, LogOn, LogOff, Shutdown) scripts even while the client is offline.

    The following steps do this:

    1. Use GPP to copy 4 scripts to the client
    2. The Startup, LogOn, LogOff and Shutdown scripts are triggered by the local GPO

So I still have one question. Currently we configured one client and set the Local GPO via MMC on the client to point to the correct PowerShell script. This works flawlessly. However, to apply these settings to multiple machines in the domain that are member of a specific active directory security group, what is the best way of doing this?

Should this be defined in the domain GPO? Because I don't think it's possible to select a PowerShell script (Ex. c:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup\Startup.ps1) that is only available on a client....

    Thank you for your help.
