Limit Assign to User by User Role RRS feed

  • Hello Everybody,

    I have a question concerning a limitation of the "assigned to" field. Is there a way to limit the users a certain analyst is allowed to assign Work Items to?

    For example User A ist only allowed to assign Work Items to UserB/C/D but User D is allowed to assign Work Items to everybody?

    Is there a way to implement this?

  • It's your requirement is not possible in SCSM 2012 R2:

    The "Assigned To User" is a relationship between the user class and the incident (work item) class.

    It's not possible in SCSM to limit this "create relationship function" based on users/groups/roles.

    There are 2 solutions available (as far as I know):

    Group Assign from Cireson -> http://cireson.com/apps/group-assign/

    Power Assign for Service Manager from Gridpro (part of the PowerPack) -> http://www.gridprosoftware.com/en/products/powerpack

    But both solutions are using a "filter option" and not permissions for the assignment of incidents.
